Cell Signaling

Research Summary

Upon recognizing signals from the environment like nutrients and hormones, all living cells adjust their behavior and undergo proliferation, differentiation, and in some cases cell death, accordingly. This is mediated by “signal transduction system” consisting of a variety of signaling molecules including kinases and phosphatases. In order to understand the molecular mechanism underlying immune responses, we are now focusing on the MAPK pathway as well as the PI3K-mTORC1 pathway, both of which are major players in the signal transduction system.
