Faculty Recruitment: Kansai Medical University School of Medicine Department of Physiology

The Department of Physiology at Kansai Medical University (KMU) is pleased to announce an international call for applications for a faculty position. Our department conducts neurophysiological experiments on non-human primates (NHPs) and collaborates with clinical departments, primarily in neuroscience. In education, we are responsible for physiology lectures and practical training for medical students, as well as for lectures for the Cognitive Neuroscience Division of the Graduate School of Medicine.

To further advance neuroscience research using NHPs and enhance our medical education program, we are seeking an Associate Professor-level candidate.

Key Selection Criteria

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate the following:

  1. Research Excellence: The ability to independently plan, execute, and analyze physiological experiments’ data and produce high-quality research papers.
  2. Educational Commitment: A strong passion for educating medical and graduate students as a faculty member.
  3. Collaborative Spirit: The ability to work cooperatively with members both within and outside the department.
  4. International Experience: Priority will be given to those with a track record of research or joint projects overseas. KMU is actively promoting the internationalization of its faculty.
Environment and Location

Kansai Medical University is conveniently located between Kyoto and Osaka, just a 5-minute walk from Hirakata-shi Station on the Keihan-Line. We offer a well-equipped environment for animal husbandry and research, along with robust administrative support. Our university hospital is located adjacent to the campus, facilitating encouraged collaboration between clinical and basic sciences.

2. Additional Notes

  • Eligibility: Must hold a Ph.D. (Doctoral degree). There are no restrictions regarding MD. degree.
  • Status: Fixed-term contract (5-year term, renewable) based on the Act on Term of Office of University Teachers, etc.
